Sightseeing in Downtown & Midtown
Tina and I learnt that New York really is the city that never sleeps as we weren't due to jet lag so we just sat and looked out over Times Square and saw so many people still walking around! We enjoyed an all you can eat buffet breakfast for $8.95 and then got on the hop on/off downtown bus tour. We saw so many famous sights today. We walked all around the Wall St district and strolled the shops of TriBeCa and Soho before returning to the starting point of Times Square. We had a rest and did some research with the maps and brochures before going out and walking down to have a shop in Macy's. We came back to the hotel and then got ready to go out and do the nightlights bus tour run by the same company. It is so wonderful having our hotel in such a magical location and seems so central to everything! The lights of the city are just amazing. The tour went for 2 hours and had the most entertaining and informative guide. We drove all over the downtown area before crossing over the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn do you could look back over Manhattan. We are now back, exhausted and hoping to get a proper night's sleep before starting all over again tomorrow!
